North Dakota Horse of the Year

We are accepting nominations for the 2023-2024 ND Horse of the Year.  To nominate your equine partner, we ask that you complete the attached form, see link below.  Please  include an action picture of you and your horse. Due May 15, 2024.

New this year, we’re using the Rubric Scoring System! The nominations will be reviewed and scored by the State Secretary, Marketing Director, and your Student Officers.

More about the scoring system:

• Each question will be scored on a scale from 1 - 5.
• One of the six judges scores will be withheld to break ties.
• Student Officers are allowed to nominate their horse and the tie breaker judges score will be used.
• Scoring will be done before State Finals to allow the judges time for review and avoid rushing through the submissions.
• One Cowboy and Cowgirl’s equine athlete will be announced at the State Finals.
