2023- 2024 Miss NDHSRA Queen ~ Chesney Gjermundson
Chesney Janae Gjermundson is a senior who lives near Marshall, North Dakota. She competes in breakaway roping, barrel racing, goat tying, pole bending and cow cutting in the North Dakota High School Rodeo Association. Her favorite event is breakaway roping.
Gjermundson is involved in Dunn County 4-H, basketball and band. She plays trumpet and piano, and delights in being a part-time organist at church. She is on the high honor roll at Freedom Project Academy. She enjoys babysitting and raising goats. On the road to rodeos, she usually hauls her five horses and goats to contract for the goat tying event.
Chesney is a daughter of Casey and Koko Gjermundson and has one sister, Kazanne. She enjoys helping on her family’s commercial cattle ranch while doing jobs like sorting and trailing cattle, heeling and wrestling calves at family brandings, and raking hay or hauling square bales.
As Miss North Dakota High School Rodeo Queen, she states, “I am absolutely passionate about rodeo and look forward to educating and inspiring others by using my rodeo experiences and ranching heritage to help promote the people and animals that truly make rodeo an American sport.”
